Do You Need a Humidifier?

Has your household been dealing with dry noses and itchy eyes since you turned the

heat on? A humidifier could be your solution. Answer the following questions to see if you may need a humidifier in your home.

 

Is the humidity level in your home less than 40 percent?

 

Do you wake up with a dry nose?

 

Does your skin feel dry or itchy?

 

Do you feel static electricity when you shuffle your feet across the floor?

 

Are your eyes dry and itchy?

 

If you answered “yes” to most or all of these questions, you may need a humidifier. A hygrometer can be used to test the humidity levels in your home, which should be 40-60 percent. Hygrometers, as well as humidifiers, can be purchased at home improvement stores. Your heating and air contractor can also install a humidifier in your duct work that will humidify your entire house.
