How Energy Efficient is Your Home?

LIGHTING

  1. I use compact fluorescent (CF) light bulbs wherever I can.
  2. I use CF bulbs in high-use light fixtures.
  3. I have a couple of CF bulbs in my home, but mostly regular incandescent.
  4. I use only regular incandescent light bulbs.

Changing just one light bulb in your home or office can save more than $30 annually in electricity costs and prevent the release of more than 450 pounds of greenhouse gas. They also use at least two-thirds less energy and last up to 10 times longer than traditional models. CFs have many applications today, from lamps to outdoor lighting.
