Remodeling Your Laundry Room?
Things to Keep in Mind to Make It Work for You
- Make room for storage. Don’t forget items like cleaning supplies, detergents, mops, brooms and your vacuum cleaner. Some people use extra space to store linens, too. If you want a clean look, consider cabinet space to hide away these items. Cabinets will also help keep toxic items out of the hands of little ones.

- Incorporate a utility sink. It will help keep other sinks in your home cleaner, and it’s a more convenient option for hand washing clothes.
- Designate an area for sorting whites, lights, towels, darks, hand wash and dry clean items to make the task of laundry easier.
- Put up a bar to hang items when they are removed from the dryer or after they have been ironed.
- Incorporate your ironing board into the laundry room so that it can be easily folded out of the way and unfolded for use. When installing, don’t forget to place it near an electrical outlet and take into consideration the length it must unfold.
- Make doing the laundry more fun by adding a small television to your laundry room – it’ll make those chores go by faster.
