How Energy Efficient is Your Home?
AIR LEAKS
By simply caulking and weatherstripping around doors, windows and other openings, you could reduce your energy bill by as much as 10 percent and make your home much more comfortable. Seal with caulk between the wall and window trim or doorframe. For doors, install weather stripping and use door sweeps on the door thresholds. And don't forget some of the other areas where air leaks commonly occur, like at baseboards, at plumbing penetrations, the fireplace, and fans, vents and outlets.
