The Bucket Test

Follow these steps to see if you could benefit from a low-flow showerhead:

1. Place a bucket, marked in gallons, under your showerhead.
2. Turn on the shower at the pressure you would normally use.
3. Use a watch to time how many seconds it take to fill the bucket to the one gallon mark.

Your Results:
Less than 20 seconds: Your showerhead failed! You could benefit from a low-flow showerhead.

More than 20 seconds: Your showerhead passed! You probably already have a low-flow showerhead.
