Don't let terms like stackable, high-efficiency or front loading make your head spin. We are here to help you shop with confidence. Natural gas dryers are efficient and a great choice for any household.

Before you go dryer shopping, be sure to consider the measurements of your laundry area as well as how much your wallet can stand.

Some options are nice but expensive. That's why it's important to do your research and prioritize options based on your budget. And don't forget to always look for the Energy Star label.

DRYER FEATURES YOU SHOULD KNOW:

MOISTURE SENSOR

This feature is a must! Moisture sensors prevent drying that wastes energy and can damage and shrink fabrics.

LINT FILTER LOCATION

The lint filter should be in a convenient location so it can be easily cleaned after each use. Generally, top-mounted lint filters are easier to clean than ones on the inside of the drum.

VENT BLOCKAGE INDICATOR

Though some models may include a vent blockage indicator, it is still a good idea to routinely check the dryer vent for lint buildup.

WRINKLE SHIELD

This setting is helpful if you don't remove clothes immediately from the dryer. It works by continuing to tumble every few minutes after the load is dry to keep clothes from wrinkling.

STEAM SETTING

This feature is popping up on more and more models and boasts odor removal and less wrinkling.

A QUIETER MODEL

Consider purchasing a quieter model, especially if your dryer is adjacent to a living area.
