Gas Up the Stove
Cream Cheese Squares
2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (regular or reduced fat)
2 8-ounce packages of cream cheese
1 1/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 stick of margarine (regular or light)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out one can of crescent rolls in a rectangular baking pan; do not press down. Cream together two 8-ounce packages of cream cheese, one cup sugar and one teaspoon vanilla extract. Spread this mixture over the crescent rolls in the pan, all the way to the edge. Place another can of crescent rolls over the top of the mixture and do not press down. Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar and one teaspoon cinnamon over the top. Melt one stick of margarine and pour it over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool overnight in the refrigerator and cut into squares the next day.
